Packaging
Plastic container with 5 litres of luring substance. A Drosasan trap need to be ordered separately.
How does Fruit Fly Attractant work
Flies are attracted by the luring substance and enter the trap. Once inside, they cannot escape. Once they land on the luring substance they get stuck and drown.
Application Fruit Fly Attractant
-
Fill the trap with 200 ml of the Fruit Fly Attractant.
-
Hang the trap on a branch or stick using the enclosed metal hook.
-
Hang the traps when the temperature is above 10 °C and the trees/bushes are starting to bear fruit. The most effective place to hang the traps is in the shade along the sides of the plot, in the hedge and on the crop. If the crops are not very tall, make sure the traps hang at least one metre above the ground. With regards to taller crops, the traps can be attached to the crops.
-
Once the luring substance in the trap has attracted too many flies or has evaporated, the traps must be refilled.
-
Be aware the traps will catch fewer Drosophila suzukii when the fruit starts to ripen.
-
The best period to use Fruit Fly Attractant is before the fruit starts to ripen.
